My name is Grace and I am a very blessed wife, mom, daughter and friend. I am surrounded by wonderful people who inspire me every day!
I am so very fortunate that I have a husband who loves me unconditionally and who has encouraged me to be a stay at home mom with the girls, my Sweetpeas. He supports everything I do and is always there to pick me up when I am down!
I have two amazing daughters who bless me every single day with inspiration, laughs and energy…oh so very much energy. They are the ones who encouraged me to start this blog…so “most” of the time it will be the three of us who are on the hunt for wonderful flavors, etc..
Why Flavor Seeker you ask? One of our favorite things to do is to pick a food and then seek out the very best of that flavor…we do this in our kitchen our friends kitchen’s and out and about at our local eateries and shops…in town and as far away as we can get. And there you have it, a Flavor Seeker!
I have a wonderful father who has encouraged me my entire life and has been nothing but supportive. My mother is still a huge part of our lives, just from the heavens above instead of on this earth. She is missed every minute of every day! My brothers have taught me so much as well. And a father-in-law who I can always count on to join me in a treat!
My friends are truly amazing and have been there for me every step of the way. I have found them to be my moral compass, my laughs, my tears and I love every one of them for so many amazing gifts they have to offer. It helps that we all enjoy food and dining…in a restaurant, around the family table or wherever the meal may be served as long as it is with friends and family! They will also be a huge part of this blog!
Food has always been a large part of my life. Starting as a child in an Italian family we had our Sunday dinners without fail…huge pasta meals. Never was it store-bought. Everything was made fresh…the pasta, the sauce, the meatballs, the ravioli, the cannoli…What I wouldn’t do for a bite of any one of those amazing meals. Both my grandmothers sent me down a path; My Dad’s mom led me down the road of homemade goods, the amazing times together in the kitchen and all that is possible with food. My Mom’s mom led me down the dining out path and I have to admit it was just as amazing. All the different flavors and experiences you would gather on each adventure at a new restaurant. And then there was my mother…such an amazing woman and cook!!! I will have an entire section for her! Her meals were a little on the unhealthy side, but oh so tasty. Again, what I wouldn’t do for a bowl of her pastina! We still have those Sunday dinners!
With all of these amazing people in my life, how can we not enjoy our culinary adventures seeking out the most amazing flavors? Even the simplest of flavors, like PB&J to rekindle some of those childhood memories. Or tuna, avocado and red onion on wheat bread when you are totally broke! Yum!
I will try not to get too political or religious on this blog, but they are a huge part of my makeup and guide us in our daily behavior.
I am led by my faith, family and friends! Did I mention I was blessed?!
Our culinary goal is to eat healthy but still enjoy every bite, to eat natural whenever possible and to encourage those around us to do the same. There are so many wonderful, healthy flavors to experience. I want nothing more than for my Sweetpeas to grow up healthy with a great self-image that they will pass on to their children.
Most of our posts will be short but sweet (except this one :0). I know there are many blogs out there that are amazing works of literature, but that is not our style.
Thank you to all who visit us, join us and comment on us. We will use your encouragement, constructive criticism and comments to improve our blog, our journey and our flavors!
